Manchester United representatives are set to be at the Amsterdam ArenA to watch Ajax take on Bayern Munich this evening, it has been claimed.

After an underwhelming summer window, Jose Mourinho has been pushing the Manchester United board to invest in January in order to strengthen the squad for the latter half of the season.




An underwhelming campaign thus far has increased the pressure on Manchester United to find solutions in the market during the January transfer window.

The club are looking to bring in at least one centre-back in January and Ajax’s teenage captain Matthijs de Ligt is said to be one of their targets.
 


And according to Italian outlet Calciomercato.it, officials representing Manchester United will be at the Amsterdam ArenA tonight to watch Ajax face Bayern Munich in the Champions League.

De Ligt is expected to be one of the players the Manchester United representatives are expected to keep an eye on during their visit.

Midfielder Frenkie de Jong has also been attracting the interest of clubs across Europe and he is also one of the players the club are expected to follow.

It remains to be seen whether Manchester United visit is with a view to the January window or for the next summer transfer market.
