Leeds United attacking midfielder Samu Saiz is wanted back in Spain by La Liga side Getafe.

Saiz has shone for Leeds since joining the club from Spanish second tier outfit Huesca in 2017, but has seen his playing time curtailed in recent months as head coach Marcelo Bielsa has preferred other options.

He remains a key figure at Elland Road, but is attracting interest as the January transfer window approaches.

And, according to BBC Radio Leeds, Saiz is wanted by La Liga side Getafe.

Getafe are looking to take Saiz back to his homeland on a six-month loan deal, however are well aware that completing the transfer could be tough to do.

Saiz still has another two and a half years left on his contract at Elland Road and his future may come down to whether he wishes to return to Spain, with Getafe based in his hometown of Madrid.

Getafe are fighting to push up to a Europa League spot in La Liga and currently sit in eighth place, just a point off the top six and only three below fifth.

If Saiz were to move to Getafe at the start of January, he could feature in clashes against Barcelona and Atletico Madrid just weeks after signing.
