West Ham United manager Manuel Pellegrini has admitted that the Hammers are improving, but insists they have to keep finding the right amount of balance between attack and defence for success.

The Hammers will be aiming to make it four wins in a row when they face bottom-placed Fulham at Craven Cottage on Saturday in the Premier League.

West Ham have scored nine goals and conceded just three during their last three outings in the Premier League and will be aiming to make the best use of facing teams below them in the table in the coming weeks.

Despite finding their best form of the season in recent weeks, Pellegrini insisted that West Ham must keep finding the right balance between attack and defence if they are to enjoy prolonged success in the division.

However, the Chilean was not shy of admitting the fact that his team have come on leaps and bounds since he took over, but warned his players that it is imperative that they keep working at their optimum level.

“We are improving, no doubt”, Pellegrini told a press conference.

“We are scoring goals, it is not always easy to win three games in a row and to score three games but we must be careful, things change quickly in football.

“We must continue to work the same way we are doing now, we are in the correct way.

“It was my mentality to bring this here to this club, trying to score as many goals as you can in any game.

“I think that the players enjoy what we are doing and the way we are playing but we must continue to be a balanced team in attacking and defending.”

West Ham will be without the services of Jack Wilshere and Marko Arnautovic, while Lucas Perez will face a late fitness test, ahead of the trip across the capital on Saturday.
