Tottenham Hotspur are unlikely to conduct any transfer business in January in the January transfer window despite worries over their midfield, according to Sky Sports News.

The north London side did not spend a single penny last summer as Tottenham chose not to add to a squad that finished third in the Premier League last season.

Manager Mauricio Pochettino is said to have been frustrated by the club’s decision not to spend, but insisted in public that he is happy with the squad he has at his disposal.

There have been question marks over whether Spurs will look to add to their squad in the new year.

But it has now been claimed the club are unlikely to dip into their transfer funds in January as they look to keep their powder dry for next summer.

There are worries about Tottenham’s midfield, especially with Victor Wanyama out injured, but at the moment the club are not planning to spend in January.

The north London club signed Lucas Moura from Paris Saint-Germain in the last winter window and it remains to be seen how Pochettino reacts to a second consecutive transfer market without any signings.

And it is unclear if Tottenham's stance could change if they see bids for their players.
