Leeds United are resigned to losing the services of Samu Saiz, who is wanted by Getafe.

The Whites snapped up Saiz from Spanish second tier club Huesca in the summer of 2017 and he quickly became a popular player with the Elland Road faithful.

He has found the going tougher under Marcelo Bielsa this season and is now on the brink of returning to Spain with Getafe.

The Spanish top flight side want to sign Saiz on loan until the end of the season with an option to make the move permanent in the summer and, according to the Yorkshire Evening Post, Leeds are resigned to losing him.

Saiz is desperate to return home and Leeds have accepted that he no longer wants to be at Elland Road.

The midfielder was born in Madrid, where Getafe are based, and has played only 14 minutes of La Liga football in his career.

The switch would hand Saiz the chance to turn out in La Liga for Getafe, while his pregnant wife will be in familar surroundings.

It remains to be seen if Leeds will look to replace Saiz in next month's transfer window.
