Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has insisted that the Manchester United squad are oozing with quality despite the recent criticism they have faced.

Manchester United travelling to Anfield on the back of a poor defeat at Valencia and 16 points behind league leaders Liverpool, who are yet to lose a league game this season.

While Klopp and Liverpool have earned praise for the progress they have made this season, Manchester United have gone backwards under Jose Mourinho after finishing second behind Manchester City last year.

There are questions marks over Mourinho’s future at the club and the strength of his squad, but Klopp feels that there is quality within the Manchester United ranks.

He believes it would wrong to judge the Manchester United team on the basis of the points on board this season.

The Liverpool manager said in a press conference via LFC TV: "I've never been interested in the points of Manchester United.

“I've been aware of the criticism, but when we analyse and switch off the sound there is a lot of quality, technique and strength.

“[David] de Gea in the goal, [Marcus] Rashford and [Romelu] Lukaku, [Jesse] Lingard too is unbelievable.

“We don’t judge the points they have, just the quality.”

Klopp is yet to beat Manchester United in the league since taking over at Liverpool and the Red Devils have not lost any of their last eight league games against the Merseyside giants.
