Leeds United legend Eddie Gray has praised the quality of Patrick Bamford's finish against Bolton Wanderers, noting he never even needed to look at the position of the Trotters goalkeeper.

Marcelo Bielsa's men were involved in a scrappy game in difficult weather conditions at the University of Bolton Stadium, but emerged 1-0 winners.

And despite the weather, Bamford, on off the bench, provided a touch of quality when he finished with a low effort in the 66th minute.

Bamford's effort from around ten yards out was too good for Bolton goalkeeper Ben Alnwick and Gray says the striker did not even need to look at where the shot-stopper was.

Gray said on LUTV: "I don't think he even looked at the goalkeeper.

"He just ran on to the ball and thought if I hit this quickly the goalkeeper won't have enough time to react; and he didn't react, it was in the back of the net before he moved.

"It was a great three points", the Leeds legend added.

Leeds are now one point clear of Norwich City at the top of the Championship table, but face a test next weekend when they head to Villa Park to take on Dean Smith's Aston Villa side.

The Whites then play host to Blackburn Rovers at Ewood Park on Boxing Day.
