Tottenham Hotspur star Christian Eriksen admits that scoring a stoppage winner against Burnley, as Spurs won 1-0 at Wembley, was a special moment for him.

The Dane didn’t start the game but made a big impact from the bench. With Burnley defending gamely and Tottenham struggling to break the deadlock, Mauricio Pochettino threw in his main creative weapon into the game in the second half.




Tottenham kept knocking at the door and it finally opened when Harry Kane laid the ball into Eriksen’s path and the playmaker produced an unerring finish in the first minute of stoppage time.

The Dane conceded that it felt special to come off from the bench and score a late winner for his side in a crucial clash.
 


Eriksen stressed the importance of getting the win as it will only add momentum and confidence to Tottenham as they march onto a busy festive period of the season.

He told Premier League Productions: "Every time you come on you want to make an impact. To score in extra time was extra nice!

Tottenham move within five points of Premier League leaders Manchester City, who beat Everton 3-1.
