Davy Propper has warned Brighton & Hove Albion’s upcoming opponents Chelsea that the Seagulls are a much stronger unit at home this season and want to reduce the gap to the top sides.

Chelsea beat Brighton 4-0 at the Falmer Stadium last season, but are expected to face a toughest team this time around going by the Seagulls’ results at home this season.

Chris Hughton’s side have beaten Manchester United at home and only narrowly lost to Tottenham Hotspur, while they are seventh in the home Premier League table of the 2018/19 season.

Propper thinks that although Chelsea are a big side and have quality players, Brighton will be up for the game and push the Blues on Sunday.

“Chelsea are a big team and it will be difficult for us to get a result, but we’re confident at home and want to get closer to these teams", Propper told the club's official website

“Last season we had two big defeats at home against Liverpool and Chelsea, so I hope we can do much better this time around.

“If you see how we played against Liverpool last season and this season, there’s such a big difference and we were so much closer.”

Chelsea did hand Manchester City their first defeat in the Premier League last weekend and will be full of confidence.

Brighton, on the other hand, will hope to bounce back after suffering a 1-0 defeat against struggling Burnley last time out.
