Leeds United first-team coach Carlos Corberan is pleased with Patrick Bamford’s return to the first-team fold in the win against Bolton Wanderers on Saturday.

Bamford suffered a knee injury in early September that kept him out of action for more than two months, but the striker came off the bench against Bolton to score the only game of the game as Leeds emerged narrow 1-0 winners.

With the win, the Whites have now won five games on the trot and moved above Norwich City in the Championship table as the Canaries dropped points against Bristol City.

The 66th-minute strike against Bolton was Bamford’s first goal of the current Championship season and Corberan revealed that the 25-year old has worked hard to get back in contention and help the team.

“First of all it’s very positive to see Patrick Bamford in the team”, Corberan said on LUTV after the game.

“When the players have suffered a long-term injury, it’s always a hard process for them so it’s always good to see the player with us and ready to help the team.

“Patrick was working hard in during this long time [out of action] and of course it’s positive for him and his level of confidence, and for the team too to have more players to have the full squad to help the team in any moment."

Marcelo Bielsa’s side will next take on Aston Villa and will hope to keep their impressive winning streak intact.
