Leeds United midfielder Samu Saiz is set to undergo a medical at Getafe after the Whites agreed on a loan deal until the end of the season with the Spanish Primera Division outfit.

Saiz, who joined Leeds from Huesca in the summer of 2017, has been keen to return to Spain due to personal reasons.

The midfielder travelled to Madrid over the weekend for discussions and, according to the Yorkshire Evening Post, Saiz will undergo a medical at Getafe before joining the club on loan until the end of the season.

Leeds are expected to net a fee in the region of £6m, if Getafe decide to activate the clause that would allow Saiz to join them permanently next summer.

The Spaniard made his last appearance for Leeds against Queens Park Rangers earlier this month and will be officially announced as a Getafe player after they register the deal once the transfer window opens in January.

Saiz, who spent a season with Getafe during the 2012/13 campaign, has made 19 appearances in the Championship for Leeds this term.
