Rangers midfielder Ryan Jack has revealed that the Gers are not keeping one eye on the Old Firm clash against Celtic before the winter break, ahead of their trip to face Hibernian on Wednesday.

The Light Blues climbed to the summit of the Premiership table following their 1-0 win over Hamilton on Sunday, but will face a stern challenge from their rivals Celtic before the winter break.

Brendan Rodgers’ men, who are just a single point away from the top, have a game in hand over Rangers with both teams set to meet at Ibrox at the end of this month ahead of the winter break.

Despite the magnitude of the fixture that is lurking just around the corner, Jack has revealed that Rangers are not paying too much attention to planning for the Old Firm clash yet.

The midfielder stressed that it is important to not get ahead of themselves at this point in time and admitted Rangers are only focused on their next game at the moment.

“We take each game as it comes and we are not getting ahead of ourselves”, Jack told reporters in a press conference.

“We are concentrating on the next three games and not focusing on the Old Firm match.”

Jack also added that Rangers have a squad full of characters with a strong mentality now.

“The squad we have together now is full of characters with a strong mentality and good ability which is the main thing”, he added.

Rangers, who are currently ahead of Kilmarnock and Celtic in the Scottish Premiership table, will next face eighth-placed Hibernian at Easter Road on Wednesday.
