Real Madrid are closing in on a deal to sign Manchester City attacking midfielder Brahim Diaz in the January transfer window.

The 19-year-old Spaniard’s contract expires next summer and despite Manchester City’s attempts to tie him down to a new deal, the player is now likely to leave the club in January.

Real Madrid have been keeping tabs on the youngster for several months and has his heart set on a move to the Bernabeu.

Manchester City have accepted Diaz will not sign a new deal and reportedly opened talks with Real Madrid to sell him in the winter window recently.

And according to Spanish sports daily Marca, the two clubs are on the verge of agreeing on a deal that would see Diaz move to the Bernabeu next month.

Real Madrid and Manchester City are finalising the details of an agreement and the final deal is expected to go through for a fee of €15m plus add-ons.
