Rangers winger Jamie Murphy has revealed that he is not worried about the competition for places in the Gers squad at the moment, and is just looking forward to playing football again.

Murphy is currently recovering from a knee ligament injury that he picked up at the start of the season.

The initial prognosis said that Murphy would miss the rest of the season, but the winger still harbours hopes of returning before the end of the season and helping his side beat Celtic to the Scottish Premiership title.

In Murphy’s absence, the likes of Ryan Kent and Glenn Middleton have done well for the Gers, who are level on points with Celtic at the top of the Premiership table.

Murphy, however, insists that he is not worried about the battle for places and just wants to play football again.

“I feel like I can play in a number of positions”, Murphy said on Rangers TV.

“It is not a worry at the minute for me to obviously get back into the team.

“I’m just looking forward to getting back fit, playing games and playing football again."

Murphy made two Premiership appearances for the Gers before his ligament injury in a Scottish League Cup game against Kilmarnock.
