Arsenal midfielder Granit Xhaka insists that his team can learn from their heavy loss against Liverpool after they bounced back to winning ways by beating Fulham 4-1 on New Year's Day, and stressed how important it was to recover.

The Gunners picked up all three points at the Emirates Stadium thanks to goals from Xhaka, Alexandre Lacazette, Aaron Ramsey and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

The win also helps the Gunners put last weekend's 5-1 loss against Liverpool behind them and show that they can have a good game and improve in the process, Xhaka feels.

Assessing Fulham win, the Swiss international said that his team were a bit nervous as they were playing against a good team with a new manager.

"After a bad game against Liverpool, we want to show a good game and to improve", Xhaka was quoted as saying by the BBC.

"Fulham have a new coach and a good team. We were a bit nervous at 2-1, but 4-1 makes us happy."

There is a lot to learn from the Liverpool loss, Xhaka said, as the Reds have been one of the best teams in the league this year, though Arsenal have two more tough games coming up against West Ham and Chelsea.

"We can learn a lot from the game against Liverpool – they are a good team this year – but we have West Ham away and then Chelsea at home which is a tough programme."

Arsenal now take a break from league action and play Blackpool in the FA Cup on Saturday.
