Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas has agreed the terms of a contract with Monaco ahead of a proposed move to the Stade Louis II next week.

The Spaniard has been a squad player at Chelsea this season and has made it clear that he is not happy sitting on the bench under Maurizio Sarri.

His contract expires next summer and he has been heavily courted by AC Milan for a move at the end of the season on a free transfer.

However, Fabregas is set to exit Chelsea in January and it has been claimed Monaco are close to concluding a deal to sign the Spaniard next week.

According to French sports daily L’Equipe, the midfielder has agreed on a two-and-a-half-year contract with Monaco and is on the verge of completing a transfer.

Fabregas wants to play against Southampton tonight for Chelsea as it would be his 500th appearance for an English club and Sarri is expected to grant him his wish.

Monaco have been in talks with Chelsea and are confident of getting a deal over the line for a fee of €10m next week.

Fabregas will reunite with Thierry Henry at Monaco once he completes the move to the Stade Louis II this winter.
