Napoli have set the conditions of engagement for Wolves target Amadou Diawara’s possible departure during the transfer window this month.

The Serie A giants have often insisted that they do not want to lose Diawara but in the background, the club have been preparing to possibly let him go this winter.

The 21-year-old midfielder has suitors in Italy, with Fiorentina and AC Milan probing the possibility of signing him in the January transfer window.

Premier League new boys Wolves are also interested in him and reportedly tabled an offer, which Napoli are said to have knocked back as it did not match their demands.

According to Italian outlet Calciomercato.it, Napoli are only prepared to sell him in January or accept loan offers which have a mandatory purchase option tagged along with them.

The San Paolo outfit are aware of the interest in Diawara and want to cash-in, rather than allow a club to sign him on a simple loan deal.

Napoli want a guaranteed transfer fee and are said to be asking for a sum in excess of €40m for the midfielder in January.

The Guinea midfielder has been a bit part player this season and wants to play a more important role going forward.
