Hoffenheim midfielder Steven Zuber is a potential signing for Leeds United in this month's transfer window.

Zuber has been linked with being of interest to Leeds, but it has been unclear whether when the Whites might move for him or how concrete the Yorkshire giants are about a move.

But, according to the Yorkshire Evening Post, Leeds' interest in Zuber is genuine and he is a potential signing for this month's transfer window.

Zuber has struggled to secure regular playing time for Hoffenheim this season, but did start in their final Bundesliga game before the winter break, a 1-1 draw with Mainz.

Leeds have been scouting the midfielder for some time, but how much they might have to pay Hoffenheim to take him to Elland Road is unclear.

Zuber has a further 18 months on his contract at Hoffenheim.

The midfielder is just one appearance off hitting the 100 games mark across all competitions from Hoffenheim.

Despite often operating in an advanced midfield position or on the flanks, Zuber has only scored eight times in 99 appearances for the Bundesliga club so far.

Zuber has played Champions League football for Hoffenheim this season, featuring in group stage games against Shakhtar Donetsk and Lyon.
