Paris Saint-Germain are set to hold talks with the representatives of Tottenham Hotspur defender Tony Alderweireld today over a potential switch to the French capital in the summer.
Tottenham recently decided to trigger a one-year extension to Alderweireld’s contract, but it meant the defender will be available to leave the club at the end of the season due to a £25m release clause.
The Dutchman has so far failed to agree on a new contract with Tottenham, with the club refusing to meet the player’s high wage demands.
Manchester United have been heavily linked with Alderweireld, but it seems Paris Saint-Germain are moving forward with their attempt to sign him next summer.
According to French magazine Le 10 Sport, PSG have scheduled a meeting with the representatives of the Tottenham defender today, where a possible switch will be discussed.
Israeli super-agent Pini Zahavi will represent PSG in the meeting and the Parisians are hoping to convince the player about a move to the French capital at the end of the season.
PSG are prepared to trigger the release clause in his contract in the summer if Alderweireld is ready to pack his bags for Paris.
