Samu Saiz has made his debut for Getafe, following his loan move from Leeds United.

The attacking midfielder was keen to head back to Spain and Leeds agreed a deal for him to move to Getafe on loan, with the Spanish side holding an option to make the move a permanent one.

And Saiz's debut has come in a high-profile clash for the club, with the player being brought off the bench in the 74th minute of his side's La Liga meeting with Barcelona on Sunday evening.

With Getafe trailing 2-1 to goals from Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez, Saiz was introduced into the game.

Saiz was unable to inspire a comeback and Getafe went down 2-1 at home.

The result sees Getafe sitting in seventh in La Liga, just one point off sixth placed Real Betis.

Barcelona meanwhile are at top of the table on 40 points, meaning they are ten points ahead of rivals Real Madrid, who are just fifth.

Getafe's next game is in the Spanish Cup, against Real Valladolid on Wednesday.
