Leeds United have yet to make a firm approach to sign Hoffenheim midfielder Steven Zuber.

The Bundesliga schemer has struggled for playing time at Hoffenheim this season and has been linked with a switch to Leeds in this month's transfer window.

Leeds are coming under pressure to do business this month due to the small nature of their first team squad and the desire to remain at the top of the Championship table.

While Zuber could be an option, Leeds have not yet moved beyond the stage of simply interest in the midfielder, according to the Yorkshire Evening Post.

The Whites did cut down on potential fixture congestion on Sunday by exiting the FA Cup at the hands of QPR.

Marcelo Bielsa opted to make a number of changes and hand first team regulars a breather, with the R's taking advantage and progressing to the fourth round.

Leeds still have a number of weeks to firm up their interest in Zuber.

It is unclear how the midfielder might react to the prospect of dropping down to the Championship however.
