New Celtic signing Oliver Burke has revealed that he does not think about the record transfer fee that German side RB Leipzig paid for his services in 2016.

Burke became the most expensive Scottish player two years ago after moving to the Bundesliga, but his development has stagnated since, and he is hoping to impress for Celtic after moving to the Parkhead club on loan from West Brom.

The 21-year old moved to West Brom from RB Leipzig in the summer of 2017 after a disappointing spell in Germany, but failed to shine in the west Midlands and had made just three appearances in the Championship this season before moving to Scotland in the current transfer window.

Burke has admitted that moving to Celtic was a no-brainer and he hopes to get his confidence back with during his spell with the Hoops after revealing that he does not think about the figures involved in his transfer.

"To be honest, I don't really think about it”, Burke was quoted as saying by STV when asked about his record fee.

"I don't really know about the figures as much until I see it in the papers or something.

"It's not on my mind as much. I just focus on playing football, just like a little kid.

"I'm here now and hopefully I can get all of my confidence back."

Burke has linked up with Celtic at their warm weather training camp in Dubai and will look to quickly force his way into Brendan Rodgers' plans.
