Lewis Baker's loan stay at Leeds United has ended after Chelsea decided to recall the midfielder this month, with the expectation he will now be loaned out to another Championship side.

The 23-year-old midfielder was one of the first signings of the Marcelo Bielsa’s era at Leeds last summer and he was signed on a season-long loan deal from Chelsea.

But the midfielder was only a bit part player during his time at Elland Road and he remained an unused substitute in Leeds’ last four league games.

Chelsea were not happy with the little football Baker was playing and according to the Yorkshire Evening Post, they have recalled the midfielder from Leeds.

Only two of his eleven Championship appearances this season came from the starting eleven and it is claimed Chelsea will look to now send him to another club on loan in the division.

With a midfielder lost from the squad, it remains to be seen whether Leeds bring in a replacement as many believe the club will need reinforcements in the winter window this month.

It remains to be seen which club Baker could land at and whether he will line up against Leeds later this season.
