Bayern Munich sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic has insisted that the club are intent on signing Chelsea winger Callum Hudson-Odoi.

The German champions have had three bids rejected by Chelsea for the youngster, but a fourth offer has matched the Blues' asking price.

Bayern Munich have a basic agreement in place with the Premier League club to sign the winger, but Chelsea do not want to sell the player during the January transfer window.

Chelsea want to hold on to him until the end of the season at least as they seek more time to convince the player to continue his development at Stamford Bridge.

But Hudson-Odoi will enter the last year of his contract in the summer and Salihamidzic has insisted Bayern Munich are set to continue their pursuit of the 18-year-old.

The Bayern Munich sporting director said in a press conference when asked about Hudson-Odoi: “He’s a very interesting player whom we absolutely want to sign.

“He has qualities that suit our game.

“He’s a good dribbler, is fast and has good movement towards the goal."

Chelsea do not want to lose one of their academy stars, but for the moment it seems the Englishman could be on his way to Germany, sooner or later.
