Celtic midfielder Nir Bitton has heaped praise on fellow team-mates Callum McGregor and Ryan Christie, both of whom, he believes, are versatile talents and are valuable commodities to have.

27-year-old Bitton has been out of action for almost a year following knee surgery, but has now returned to training and is looking forward to getting back on the pitch soon.

Injury though has not prevented the Israel international from following the action of his team closely and he has been most influenced by what he has seen from two of his team-mates.

Both Christie and McGregor have featured heavily for the Bhoys, operating in multiple roles across the pitch, a fact that is particularly impressive, according to Bitton.

“It’s always good to be able to play in different positions”, the midfielder told his club's official website.

“Callum is an unbelievable player, and Ryan is an unbelievable talent as well. When you’re a good player, it doesn’t matter where you play. If you’re a good player, you’re a good player.

“Callum has shown his quality on so many occasions, all over the pitch.

"If it’s at left-midfield, left-back, centre-mid, defensive-mid – he’s such a great player."

Bitton joined Celtic in 2013 and has since featured in 171 games for the Hoops, finding the back of the net 12 times and has also set up 14 goals more for his team-mates.
