Hull City manager Nigel Adkins is not ruling out the possibility of signing Liverpool starlet Ben Woodburn, insisting that the youngster is a real talent, capable of operating across the attack.

The youngster, a Liverpool academy recruit, spent the first half of the season at Championship club Sheffield United, but had a tough spell with little playing time.

His presence in the middle was curtailed further with an ankle injury sustained in December and now the Reds are thinking about alternative solutions to provide Woodburn with more game time.

Hull City's 53-year-old manager insists that he is an admirer of the 19-year-old, who is a very talented young player and has the capability to operate in multiple positions up the pitch.

Adkins, asked about January signings, was quoted as saying by the Hull Daily Mail: “There will be loads of names.

“Ben Woodburn is a very talented young football player who can play in a couple of positions offensively.”

The manager though ruled out the possibility of signing Middlesbrough forward Ashley Fletcher in January adding that he will have to think of other options.

“Ashley Fletcher is not going to happen, so obviously we need to move our sights onto somebody else.”

The Tigers are in superb form in the Championship and have won all of their last five league outings.
