Rangers midfielder Ross McCrorie believes the Gers will only get stronger in the second half of the season after pushing Celtic in the first half.

Steven Gerrard’s side have been more consistent this term and are level on points with the Hoops as the teams prepare for the second half of the campaign during the winter break.

The Gers beat Celtic 1-0 before the break to blow the title race wide open and give Celtic something to think about.

Rangers have signed two experienced players in Steven Davies and Jermain Defoe as they look to push for the Scottish Premiership title in the coming months.

McCrorie, who has featured nine times for the Light Blues this season, feels the squad are buzzing after their result against Celtic and the new signings will only make Rangers better.

“I would think so, yes, definitely [we will get better in the second half of the season]. Especially with the signings we’ve made, it can only make us better,” McCrorie said in an interview with Rangers TV.

“We’ll have to [start where we left off]. To end the year with a high like that, it was brilliant for us.

“So all the boys have come back and we’re all buzzing at training, so hopefully we can continue that into the league when we start back up.

Rangers will resume their league campaign against Premiership title underdogs Kilmarnock when the league resumes.
