Leeds United outcast Pawel Cibicki has joined Swedish outfit Elfsborg on a loan deal until the end of the season, it has been claimed.

The 25-year-old winger spent the first half of the season on loan at Norwegian outfit Molde and made five appearances for the club during the short stint, which ended when the Norwegian campaign came to an end.

The Swede returned to Leeds at the end of last month, but he is not part of Marcelo Bielsa’s plans going forward despite his willingness to add more numbers to his squad.

Cibicki is on the verge of leaving Leeds in January and it has been claimed that the former Malmo player is on his way back to Sweden this month.

According to Swedish daily Sportbladet, the winger completed a loan move to Swedish outfit Elfsborg earlier today and will resume his career in the familiar climes of his homeland.

It could also spell the end of his time at Leeds as Elfsborg also have an option to sign him on a permanent contract at the end of the season.

However, Elfsborg sporting director Stefan Andreasson has remained coy on the deal and said: “I have no comments.

“We unveil players when something is ready.”

Cibicki joined Leeds from Malmo in 2017, but made just ten appearances for the club.
