Paris Saint-Germain have been put off by Everton’s financial demands for midfielder Idrissa Gueye, as they look to sign him this month.

The French champions are in the market for a midfielder in the January window and have been canvassing the market for options to add to their squad this month.

A number of midfielders have been on their radar and they have also looked at the Premier League for options in order to strengthen the midfield area of their squad.

Gueye has been a target for PSG and they have been in touch with his entourage and Everton to probe the possibility of taking him to the French capital in January.

But according to French sports daily L’Equipe, PSG believe Everton have asked for too much money and a deal is unlikely if they don’t water down their financial demands.

Everton are claimed to have been demanding a fee of around €45m for Gueye and PSG are not prepared to spend that kind of money on the 29-year-old midfielder.

The French champions are eyeing other targets and are unlikely to pursue the signature of Gueye at Everton’s current financial demands.
