Mason Mount has revealed the approach he feels could help Derby County stifle Leeds United at Elland Road tonight in the Championship.

The Rams will be aiming to get their revenge on Leeds for the 4-1 defeat inflicted on them at Pride Park when they take the trip to west Yorkshire on Friday night.

Despite being outclassed by Marcelo Bielsa’s men early on in the season, Derby will be hopeful of their chances this time around, especially considering Leeds are on their worst run of form this term.

Frank Lampard’s men will face the table-toppers, who are currently on a run of three straight defeats, as they aim to push for automatic promotion at the end of the season.

In the build up to their trip to Elland Road, Mount has revealed what he feels could help Derby stifle Leeds in their own backyard and script a vital win in the race for promotion.

The Chelsea loanee admitted that Leeds are dangerous opposition, but insisted Derby can cause them problems if they adopt the same mentality they conjured up at Old Trafford and Stamford Bridge in the EFL Cup earlier in the season.

“They have got really good players, they are dangerous up front and they are a solid team”, Mount told talkSPORT.

“We have got to go there with the mentality we went to Old Trafford with, with the one we went to Stamford Bridge and obviously Norwich as well.

“We have got to have that mentality where we are going there to set up well.”

Mount, who is currently on loan from Chelsea, has enjoyed an impressive start to life at Pride Park after being directly involved in nine goals across all competitions this term.
