Nice midfielder Adrien Tameze, who has been linked with Watford, has rejected an offer to join Cardiff City during the transfer window this month.

The 24-year-old midfielder has attracted the attention of several Premier League clubs and has been heavily linked with a move away from Ligue 1 in January.

Watford have been in working with agents to assess the possibility of signing the Ligue 1 midfielder and have also been in touch with Nice to discuss the transfer.

But Cardiff have been the early movers in the market for Tameze and are said to have tabled a bid worth €10m to take the Nice midfielder to Wales this month.

But according to French sports daily L’Equipe, Tameze studied the offer from Cardiff and rejected the chance to move to the Premier League with the Welsh club.

The Cameroon midfielder is content with life at Nice and is not pushing for a move away from the club at the moment.

Serie A outfit Atalanta have now made a move for him and have tabled a bid worth €7m with Nice.

It remains to be seen whether Tameze is prepared to take up the chance to move to Italy this month.
