Rangers custodian Allan McGregor says it has only taken a matter of days training with Steven Davis to see the Northern Ireland international's quality.

Davis rejoined Rangers on a loan deal earlier this month, and is now ready to build on his five-year stay with the club he was with before moving to Southampton in 2012.

The 34-year old struggled for playing time at Southampton this season, and Rangers made the move to sign him and add more quality and depth to their midfield.

McGregor has played with Davis before and the two won three Scottish Premiership titles together.

The 36-year old custodian has lauded Davis’ ability and feels the on loan Southampton midfielder will bring a lot to the team.

“Davo is Davo”, McGregor said in an interview with Rangers TV.

“Everybody knows his qualities and I don’t need to rant on about them.

“We can see that in the couple of days he’s been training, so I think he’ll bring a lot to the team.”

Davis made 200 appearances for Rangers in his previous spell, scored 21 times for the club, and has played more than 150 games in the Scottish Premiership.
