Roma have identified Arsenal midfielder Mohamed Elneny as a potential low cost signing this month.

The Giallorossi are keen to bring in a midfielder in the winter transfer window, but are watching the costs of any possible deal closely.

And, according to Italian outlet Tutto Mercato, Roma sporting director Monchi believes that Elneny may be a low cost signing for the Serie A side.

The Roma deal-maker is looking at a loan swoop with an option to buy to take the Egyptian to the Italian capital.

Arsenal themselves are cash-strapped in this month's transfer window and it remains to be seen if they would be prepared to deplete their options by letting Elneny go.

But Elneny has clocked up just 59 minutes of Premier League football under Unai Emery this season.
