Fiorentina have ended their interest in signing West Ham United midfielder Pedro Obiang in this month's transfer window.

La Viola wanted to take the Hammers star back to Italy, where he played for Sampdoria, and did manage to get an agreement from Obiang over the switch.

But West Ham do not want to let Obaing leave this month and have pushed back against Fiorentina's attempts to do a deal.

Now, according to Italian broadcaster Sportitalia, Fiorentina have ended their interest in signing Obaing this month.

It is unclear how the midfielder will react given he had already given Fiorentina the green light to take him back to Italy.

The midfielder has made 14 appearances in the Premier League for West Ham under Manuel Pellegrini so far this season.
