Leeds United are yet to offer a new contract to Kemar Roofe despite the forward’s performances this season.

After a couple of seasons of being in and out of the team, Roofe has come into his own this term under Marcelo Bielsa as the primary striker in the squad.

The 26-year-old has netted 14 goals in 21 Championship appearances this season and has been a key factor in Leeds climbing up to the top of the league table.

There has been speculation Leeds are plotting to extend the striker’s contract, which expires in the summer of 2020 and provide him with a considerable wage hike.

Roofe could also expect improved terms on the basis of his performances and importance to the team, but according to the Yorkshire Evening Post, there is still no offer on his table.

The striker is still waiting for Leeds to offer him a new deal, which could extend his stay at the club beyond the end of next season.

Roofe is likely to receive an improved deal but Leeds are holding off opening talks as the club continue to push for promotion this season.

It remains to be seen whether Leeds make an offer in the coming months or wait until the end of the season before they look at the contracts of their top performers.
