RB Leipzig are not willing to let Everton target Jean-Kevin Augustin leave in the January transfer window, it has been revealed.

Everton have shown interest in the former Paris Saint-Germain star, but doing a deal could be tough in this month's transfer window.

Augustin could add to the attacking options at Marco Silva's disposal, however Everton have suffered a blow with the news that RB Leipzig are not in the mood to sell.

RB Leipzig have received offers for Augustin but, according to German daily Bild, do not want to let him go as they are unwilling to deplete their options midway through the season.

The Bundesliga club splashed out €15m to take the attacker to Germany from Paris Saint-Germain in 2017.

He has struggled for regular playing time at RB Leipzig, managing just 347 minutes of football in the Bundesliga this term.

Augustin has netted eight times across all competitions however and RB Leipzig coach Ralf Rangnick has revealed that the club are convinced the attacker can do a good job for them in the second half of the season.

“We remain absolutely convinced of the player and his qualities.

"Now we want to try, even in our own interest, to bring him back into shape”, Rangnick was quoted as saying by Bild.

Augustin has a contract with RB Leipzig which runs until 2022.
