Dundee manager Jim McIntyre has revealed that it would be better for the club and the player if Glen Kamara joins Rangers in this month's transfer window.

The 23-year-old midfielder has signed a pre-contract agreement with Steven Gerrard's side that will see him leave Dundee at the end of the season.

However, the 46-year-old manager insists that it would be better for the player as well as the club for the deal to done as soon as possible, as he believes that it is tough for a player to concentrate on another job while he has his mind set elsewhere.

However, for the move to go through, a fee is to be agreed between the two clubs, which is yet to happen.

"I know Glen would rather move on and I think it is best for all parties", McIntyre was quoted as saying by BBC Scotland.

"It is difficult for a player to focus on the job in hand when he knows he is going somewhere else."

Kamara came through the youth ranks at Arsenal, but failed to break into the first team picture and had loan spells with Southend United and Colchester United.

He has managed 64 appearances for Dundee, setting up five goals for his team-mates.
