Pescara have joined fellow Italian sides Benevento and Hellas Verona in the race to sign Leicester City outcast Yohan Benalouane.

Benalouane, who joined the Foxes from Atalanta in Serie A in the summer of 2015, has been frozen out of the first team picture at the King Power Stadium this term.

The Tunisian has yet to feature in a matchday squad with the senior team so far this season and looks destined to leave the club this month, amidst interest from a host of Italian sides.

Pescara are the latest entrants in the race for his signature, alongside Benevento and Hellas Verona, according to Italian outlet Tutto Mercato, as all three teams aim to return to Serie A with a strong finish to their respective league campaigns in the second tier.

The 31-year-old has previous experience of plying his trade in Serie A after representing Atalanta and Parma.

And Benalouane’s potential suitors in Serie B believe that he could become a vital cog in their push for promotion to the Italian top flight this term.

The versatile defender, who is capable of playing anywhere across the back four, has made five appearances in the Premier League 2 for Leicester Under-23s so far this season.

Benalouane is out of contract in the summer and will be considering his options this month in a desperate bid to resurrect his career elsewhere.
