Damien Duff has warned the Celtic youngsters that he will drive them crazy and is not ready to accept less than 100 per cent being delivered every day.

Duff, who enjoyed a stellar playing career, joined Tommy McIntyre at the Celtic academy as an assistant for the reserve team at Parkhead last week.

The former Chelsea winger brings with him experience of having won several domestic honours in England to go with over a century of caps with the Republic of Ireland at the international stage.

Despite having no prior of experience in management, Duff decided to take the leap into his new profession due to Celtic’s reputation and their strategy of promoting young players from the academy.

And the Irishman has told the youngsters at Parkhead to empty their tank every day, as he aims to drive them crazy.

Duff claimed that most young players settle for the ordinary by doing just enough and insisted he will demand his players give 100 per cent during every single training session.

“I think they can do more and I’m not talking about Celtic kids, I’m talking about kids in general”, Duff said on Celtic TV.

“They just do enough, but I’m full on and I’ll drive my lads crazy.

"I just always want more so enough isn’t enough for me.

“That won’t make a career, you don’t come in and just go home.

"You have to come in and empty the tank every day.”

Duff, who made over 500 senior appearances at club level, was an integral member of the Chelsea side that won back-to-back league titles under Jose Mourinho.
