Leeds United attacker Jack Clarke has warned his team-mates that their upcoming clash against Stoke City will not be like the previous meeting between the two teams.

The two sides squared off on the opening matchday of the Championship, and Leeds set the tone for their season with a comfortable 3-1 win against their opponents.

Stoke and Leeds have had contrasting season so far as the Whites are at the summit of the table, while the Potters are languishing in mid-table, and are eight points adrift of the playoff spots, having recently sacked Gary Rowett.

Marcelo Bielsa’s side surprised the fans and the neutrals with a fluid display against Stoke in August, but Clarke expects a tougher game this time.

“We’re not expecting anything like the [game at] start of the season. We’re going to take it as [being as] tough as possible”, Clarke said in an interview with LUTV.

“We know it’s going to be a tough game.

“We’re going to mentally prepare for it, physically prepare for it as best as we can and hopefully we’ll get a result.”

Stoke have not won since their 2-0 victory against Birmingham in late December, and Leeds will look to stretch the Potters’ bad run of form come Saturday.
