Brendan Rodgers has revealed that Celtic will still be involved in the transfer window this month, with indication of further business remaining to be carried out.

The Bhoys begin their Scottish Cup defence against Airdrieonians at Parkhead on Saturday, when they return to action for the first time after the mid-season break in Scotland.

Celtic were expected to strengthen their squad this month following their disappointing summer transfer activity and have already procured deals for attacking trio Oliver Burke, Timothy Weah and Vakoun Issouf Bayo.

However, Rodgers has now indicated that Celtic’s business in the transfer window is far from done with him revealing there will be movement both ways between now and the end of the month.

Rodgers also stressed on the fact that Celtic might have to allow some players to seek greener pastures this month, especially considering they have a big squad and limited opportunities.

"There will be movement both ways, I would suggest, between now and the end of the window”, Rodgers told reporters in a press conference.

“We've got a big squad.

"There will be players that naturally will want to go and play.

"We can hopefully do more business."

It remains to be seen if Celtic will enter negotiations with FC Porto over a permanent transfer for Olivier Ntcham this month, while they are also looking at the possibility of strengthening their defence.
