Leeds United legend Tony Dorigo believes Stoke City's season is dying and is confident of the Whites' prospects against the Potters at the weekend.

The Whites ended a run of three defeats in all competitions with a commanding performance against Derby County last Friday, and increased their lead at the top of the Championship table to four points.

Stoke City, on the other hand, have not won a game in their last six matches in all competitions and were dumped out of the FA Cup by League One side Shrewsbury Town on Tuesday.

The Potters’ poor run of form led to Gary Rowett’s departure and the club have replaced him with Nathan Jones.

Dorigo feels Stoke have been disappointing considering the resources they have, and expects Leeds to push them when the two sides square off on Saturday.

“It’s a strange one for them [Stoke]”, Dorigo said on LUTV.

“Obviously with the manager leaving as well, new manager coming in.

"High expectations, but their season seems to be dying a death really.

“If you think how much money they’ve spent, certainly the financials at the club, so much stronger possibly than Leeds are at the moment.

“So they are hugely disappointed of where they are.

“It’s going to be tough of course, but I think with the right attitude, I think we'll go there and give them a right good game.”

Leeds emerged comfortable 3-1 winners when they last faced Stoke on the opening matchday of the Championship and will hope for a similar result again come Saturday.
