West Ham United have failed with an offer to sign Torino striker Andrea Belotti, it has been claimed.

The Hammers are urgently scouring the transfer market to land a replacement for Marko Arnautovic, who is set to head to the Chinese Super League.

Manuel Pellegrini's side have already been linked with several options and they have now tried their luck with a bid for prolific Torino hitman Belotti.

The Hammers have slapped in an offer of €45m, according to Italian outlet Tutto Mercato, but have seen Torino knock it back.

Torino are not keen on losing a key player midway through the season and West Ham may be up against it to persuade them to let Belotti go.

The Italian side see Belotti as key to their hopes of qualifying for Europe next season.
