Manchester United defender Ashley Young has insisted that Marcus Rashford has the talent to become one of the strikers in the world.

Rashford marked his 150th appearance for Manchester United with a goal in their 2-1 win over Brighton at Old Trafford on Saturday.

The forward has now scored in his last four appearances and is appearing to be shaking off the cobwebs under the management of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, who has played him down the middle.

Young admits that Rashford’s talent is there for all to see and believes the striker is going to become one of the best in world football if he continues on his current positive trajectory.

He was quoted as saying by the BBC: "Marcus Rashford is an unbelievable talent.

“I have said it since he was in the youth team. He has the world ahead of him and can be one of the best in the world.

“I think he was off balance and still found the net.”

Solskjaer has won the first seven games as Manchester United manager in all competitions and has brought the Red Devils back into the reckoning for top four.

The home side struggled in the second half against Brighton at Old Trafford. But Young believes the way they have been playing, the Red Devils always thought that they would get the three points.

"We are delighted to get seven wins under Ole.

“When you are full of confidence you think you are going to win every game."
