David Ospina had a special visitor at Napoli's training base in recent days, as an Arsenal goalkeeping coach met up with him.

The shot-stopper is on loan at Napoli from Arsenal for the season, but the move could become permanent as when he clocks up 30 appearances, the Serie A side will be obligated to buy him for €7m.

But Arsenal will have need of another senior goalkeeper in the summer as Petr Cech is retiring.

It is unclear if a desire to bring Ospina back to England was the motivation behind the visit, but an Arsenal goalkeeping coach was at Napoli's training base to check on the Colombian, according to Sky Italia.

The coach complimented Ospina on his performances for Napoli.

Ospina, 30, has clocked up a total of 17 appearances across all competitions for the Serie A outfit so far this season, keeping six clean sheets in the process.

While he has featured only sporadically in Serie A for Napoli, Ospina did clock up appearances in all six of the club's Champions League group stage games.

He has 70 appearances for Arsenal to his name and it remains to be seen if he will have the opportunity to add to them.
