Newcastle United midfielder Isaac Hayden is sure the Magpies’ training camp in Spain will prove beneficial for the club’s winter signings Miguel Almiron and Antonio Barreca.

Rafael Benitez pulled off two major scalps on transfer deadline day last month after procuring deals for Almiron, who joined for a club-record fee, and Barreca on a loan, with a view to a permanent move in the summer.

Both Almiron and Barreca marked their debuts for Newcastle during the recent Premier League meetings with Wolves and Tottenham Hotspur respectively, courtesy of cameos off the bench.

And in the wake of making their bow for the club, the new signings will accompany Hayden and the rest of the team during their training camp in Spain this week.

The Magpies, who were knocked out of the FA Cup last month, are not in action this weekend and will use the free time to work on sessions in Spain and play a friendly game against CSKA Moscow.

Hayden, who scored during the 1-1 draw against Wolves on Monday, believes the camp in Spain will prove beneficial to Almiron and Barreca in terms of settling in and getting to know their new team-mates.

"I think it'll be good to go away”, Hayden was quoted as saying by the Northern Echo.

“It's good for the new lads because they've only just joined, so they haven't had too much time to bed in.

“It'll be good to spend more time with them, even away from football as a group because you don't really get to do that much in England where you just train and go home.

“In Spain, everyone will be in the same vicinity, even the staff, and we have a great camaraderie, so I think it'll be a great trip."

Newcastle return to action in the Premier League on 23rd February when they host relegation battlers Huddersfield Town at St James’ Park.
