Former Liverpool star Phil Babb has conceded that Manchester United are a completely different side under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and, ahead of the Reds' trip to Old Trafford, believes the Red Devils would rather see Manchester City win the title.

Jurgen Klopp’s men return to action in the Premier League on Sunday when they lock horns with arch-rivals Manchester United at Old Trafford.

The Red Devils are brimming with confidence after their FA Cup fifth round triumph over Chelsea and will be eyeing emulating similar form in the league from now until the end of the season.

Despite registering a convincing 3-1 win over Manchester United during the reverse fixture back in December, Liverpool will not have it easy considering their rivals are unbeaten domestically since then.

And Babb strongly believes the Red Devils are a completely different side at the moment and admits they would rather let Manchester City lift the title than Liverpool at the end of the season.

“They are a completely different side now, all their players are brimming with confidence”, Babb told LFC TV after last night's game.

“They will be difficult, they will have raucous crowd behind them and they've got that feel-good factor, and will want to get one over us.

“And they would rather let City win it than see us win a Premier League title.

“This is going to be a super tough game.”

Liverpool were held to a 0-0 draw in the first leg of their round of 16 clash against Bayern Munich at Anfield on Tuesday in the Champions League.
