Liam Cooper has insisted that Leeds United need to get over their defeat to Queens Park Rangers on Tuesday night and prepare for Friday’s big game against West Brom.

A Luke Freeman goal in the 49th minute was enough to earn QPR a 1-0 win over Leeds at Loftus Road and it kept the Whites third in the Championship table.

Leeds are now two points off the top place and will be hosting fourth-placed West Brom on Friday night and it has now become a more important game for the Yorkshire giants.

Cooper admits that the Leeds players are disappointed at not getting something from QPR but insisted that they cannot allow the defeat to linger as they are in a busy period of the season.

He stressed that the Leeds players are still confident of earning promotion and believes they have enough quality to beat West Brom at Elland Road on Friday night in order to get their season back on track.

The Leeds captain said on LUTV: “We are bitterly disappointed.

“It was a great chance for us and we have let ourselves down but you can’t go on too much about it as the games are coming thick and fast.

“We have a massive game at home under the lights so we just need to go again, work hard and that’s the way it is.

"There’s still confidence in the dressing room and we know it is still in our hands.

“We are more than capable of winning on Friday and putting it right.”
