Leeds United coach Carlos Corberan has warned West Brom about the Whites being stronger and angrier on Friday in the wake of their defeat to QPR at Loftus Road.

Marcelo Bielsa’s men were handed a shock 1-0 defeat by struggling QPR at Loftus Road on Tuesday as the Whites blew a golden opportunity to return to the summit of the Championship table, burning up their game in hand.

The visitors dominated the first half, but ended up paying the price for their sluggish start after the interval, when Luke Freeman netted the only goal of the game from close range in the 49th minute.

Although Leeds threatened to restore parity on a number of instances, the hosts held on and clinched a narrow 1-0 win at the end of normal time in west London.

Despite dropping points and missing out on climbing back to the top of the table, Corberan feels the defeat will not affect the confidence within the Leeds dressing room.

The Whites coach also stressed the importance of players returning from injury in the final stage of the season in the form of Izzy Brown, Barry Douglas and Gaetano Berardi.

“In this part of the season, we are going to need all our players”, Corberan told LUTV.

“So we were positive today that Izzy Brown came to the team, also Barry and Berardi made the bench.”

Corberan also issued a warning to West Brom by claiming that Leeds will now be stronger and angrier in their pursuit for a reaction following the defeat at QPR, when the two sides meet at Elland Road on Friday.

“So now we need our full squad, with our full energy and I think the most important thing is the level of confidence”, he continued.

“I don’t think we are going to lose confidence after losing [to QPR], the only thing I’m sure about is that this defeat will make us even more stronger.

“We are going to be a little bit more angry to go for the next game.”

Leeds are currently just four points ahead of West Brom, who inflicted a 4-1 defeat on the Whites during the reverse fixture between the sides in November.
