Barcelona have cooled their interest in Liverpool and Manchester City linked striker Luka Jovic ahead of the summer transfer window, believing he is not worth the money likely to be asked for him.

Jovic is currently on loan at Eintracht Frankfurt from Benfica and the Bundesliga club are expected to trigger the option to sign him on a permanent deal for €12m.

However, the striker's performances this season have led to interest from some of the biggest clubs in Europe and he is likely to leave the German outfit at the end of the season.

Liverpool and Manchester City have been keeping tabs on him, but Barcelona had appeared to be putting serious work in to set up a deal.

But according to Spanish daily Mundo Deportivo, the Catalan giants are gradually cooling their interest in the Croatian ahead of the transfer window.

Barcelona are on the lookout for a long term replacement for Luis Suarez and Jovic has been heavily scouted by the club for that purpose.

But the striker is a traditional number 9, while Barcelona want to bring in a more versatile attacker.

Barcelona are also worried about the rise in his potential transfer fee and do not want to pay the €70m price being quoted for Jovic.

The Blaugrana believe Jovic is not worth such a sum.
